People (page 3)

Here we see Martha Washington as a young maiden and again as Mrs. George Washington. Martha's children, not to be denied a place with their mother, are here in their younger years.

Patrick Henry is at his desk... could he be writing notes for his now-famous speech? In which he told the Virginia Assembly to "Give me liberty or give me death!"

There's Dolley Payne Madison, the ever-popular hostess and First Lady as the wife of President Madison. And let's not forget Lafayette, a French citizen who joined the Continental Army and who became a close friend of George Washington.
